The Christus Vincit Gradual is well in the works! As I write this page (June 5, 2023), the project is complete up through the Seventh Week of the Year.
HOW DID THIS PROJECT COME UP IN THE FIRST PLACE?
Well, originally I was going to do a Psalm 152, simply a weekday version that extends Psalm 151. I then changed my mind and decided to do a brand new set that includes Sundays AND weekdays, plus the Proper of Saints.
The new project consists of the Introit, Responsorial Psalm, Alleluia, Offertory and Communion for each Sunday and Weekday of the liturgical year. The Introit, Offertory and Communion are based on those from the Graduale Romanum, while the Responsorial Psalm and Alleluia are those from the Roman Missal. There are also Sequences for Easter, Pentecost, and Corpus Christi, and there will soon be one written for Our Lady of Sorrows (September 15).
Many of the settings are updated, and some settings even earlier than those in Psalm 151 have been revived for the Christus Vincit Gradual.
I hope you will enjoy the Christus Vincit Gradual as much as you did Psalm 151. And if not, don't worry. Psalm 151 will continue to service your liturgical needs as well.
Save the Liturgy, Save the World!
Quod scripsi, scripsi!
God bless!
